Ships Weapons Systems Engineer (SWSE)

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• The production of Installation Guidance Packages (IGP’s) and Category 4A Installation Specifications to Def Stan 02-40.

• The generation of Level 1, 2 & 3 Guidance Information (GI) to SSP 67.

• The production of electrical and mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings to Def Stan 02-722, including the management, administration and upkeep of drawings and design documentation.

• Pre & Post installation site surveys and the co-ordination of installation progress with Shipbuilders, Naval Bases, Platform Groups & SWSE’s.

• Represent the Company on installation and design matters at customers contract review / progress meetings.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft – Office / Word / Excel & Access. Adobe – Acrobat 7.0.

• Hold suitable qualifications to ONC/HNC level.

• Be expected to work with the minimum of supervision from the Project Manager.

Naval Systems Technician - Radar

A vacancy exists at the Land Based Test Site, Portsdown Technology Park, Portsdown Hill, Portsmouth for a Naval Systems Technician, focusing on Radar. The main task of the LBTS is to trial and test new systems and new versions of software.

Experience in Naval Weapons Systems and Sensors would be ideal as well as knowledge of the Combat System Highway.

You will be employed to maintain Royal Naval Radars, but you will be required to work on other systems. An ability to work as a member of a team is essential. 

Candidates with a Naval Engineering background would have an advantage but all applicants demonstrating a technical understanding of Radar will be considered.

BENEFITS: Additional training will be given to further enhance your capabilities on the RN’s current and future state of the art Electronic Systems.

Naval Systems Technician - Sonar

Electrical/Electronic Sales Manager The successful candidate will have a background/ qualification in electrical/electronic manufacturing, coupled with a proven track record in technical sales. Experience of the defence/ aerospace/ avionics/ aviation sectors would be extremely advantageous, but experience in other comparable technical sectors will be seriously considered.

Electrical, Cable Harness Estimator We are looking for an individual with a background/ qualification in electrical/electronic manufacturing, coupled with a proven track record in either estimating/purchasing/production engineering. Experience of defence/ aerospace/ avionics/ aviation manufacturing is essential.  

PCB hand solderers
 a. IPC class 3 soldering skills and experience
 b. Surface mount and through hole experience
 c. Must be able to work to high quality and performance

PCB Inspectors
 a. Must be familiar with IPC requirements
 b. Good knowledge of SM and through hole PCB
 c. Good working knowledge of quality procedures  

Prototype Wirepersons
 a. Wiring skills and experience
 b. Experience of aerospace and defence work is desirable
 c. Must be able to work to customer drawings and specification
