STS Defence present a paper at the 23rd Safety-critical Systems Symposium in Bristol
08th February 2015The paper on Marine Safety discussed the effectiveness of accident control measures in an industry where emphasis is put on accident prevention, exploring the idea that reducing the likelihood of accidents risked leading to complacency within the industry and that, when incidents did occur, the responses were not sufficiently resilient.
The event drew upon the expertise of industry and academia across a range of sectors to compare and contrast best practice and share new ideas. Sponsored by AdaCore, BAE Systems, BCS and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, it was attended by safety consultancies and representatives from the MoD and Defence primes and other speakers included academics from MIT and the University of York and representatives from industry including Inmarsat, BAE Systems and Atkins.
