Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Engineer
Reporting to the Integrated Logistics Support Manager (ILSM) , the role is responsible for ILS aspects of all Programmes contracts as well as ensuring consistency of approach across everything we do and upholding the ‘STS approach’ to ILS delivery. This position is crucial for maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum, ensuring the overall integrity and coherence of ILS activities for Programmes.
Duties: The ILS Engineer is responsible for:
• Supporting the project teams to utilise ILS tools to influence the design of production
• Drafting and developing bespoke ILS plans in line with the customer’s individual contracted service deliverables
• Monitoring ILS plan updates in line with contract amendments
• Scheduling adherence of all ILS activities to agreed milestones
• Auditing compliance with defined ILS procedures
• Planning and maintaining an effective support regime, proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
• Documenting all ILS plans, procedures and processes and ensuring consistency across all Programmes contracts
• Auditing and monitoring the effectiveness of all plans
• Monitoring ILS performance, trends and KPIs
• Liaising closely with Logistics and Procurement departments for information and data production
• Producing regular and timely reports for customers on ILS performance and proactive recommendations that help mitigate future programme/contract risks
• Ensuring effective quality assurance around project delivery – focussing on Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel (SQEP) consistency for Programmes, alignment with STS Defence strategy and outwardly on its coherence with customer expectation and specialist standards
Skills/Qualifications: The ILS Engineer should have:
• Knowledge of standards for supportability and related specifications
• Experience in military ILS process and requirements
• A technical background
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal
