Technical Author
The Technical Author provides Technical and Safety administrative support to the Engineering Services. This is primarily delivered through the writing of technical documentation and safety reports and involves communicating with customers and managing small/medium projects to time, quality and cost objectives.
Duties:
The Technical Author is responsible for:
• The production of high quality, legislation compliant, technical documentation and safety cases
• Identifying and reviewing documentation and drawing conclusions as to the project impact
• Assisting in and conducting meetings with multiple stakeholders to meet a defined aim within strict time constraints
• The production of technical documentation as part of a recognised quality process to a high standard of written and technical English compliant with Def Stan’s and JSP’s
• Communicating with stakeholders of current ILS programs and documentation requirements
• Assessing technical information and communicating key topics in plain language to mixed background audience
• Assisting in and conducting meetings with multiple stakeholders to meet a defined aim within strict time constraints
• Communicating with stakeholders on matters relating to Safety and technical information within their area of responsibility
• The production of equipment tally information required for manufacturing of tallies
• Undertaking any duty that may be reasonably expected to be carried out in support of the Company objectives
Skills/Qualifications:
The Technical Author should have:
• An understanding of Defence related safety
• A good working knowledge of MS office suite and related IT
• An awareness of Def Stan 02-40 & JSP 543 / 101
• Strong communication & Interpersonal skills
• The aptitude and drive to actively progress Continuous Improvement
• Proven customer interaction
