Providing Training in Support of the Future Strategic Nuclear Deterrent Submarine Platform
24th January 2025To celebrate International Day of Education, we are highlighting the ongoing efforts of our training team. The STS Defence training team continue to deliver nuclear systems, safety and academic training to the defence and civil nuclear enterprises. This training incorporates all current submarine platforms and now also includes the future Dreadnought class submarine due into operational service in the early 2030s. In addition, the team are now also supporting training delivery to Royal Navy uniformed personnel who will go on to operate and maintain these submarine platforms in the future.
By employing ex-nuclear operators, STS Defence also supports the UK Government’s national Nuclear Endeavour by offering bespoke individual training to Defence Nuclear Enterprise partners. This assists in developing Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel to the workforce to support the building and maintaining of the UK nuclear submarine fleet and also ensures compliance with the Office for Nuclear Regulation’s licensing conditions. Training is also delivered as part of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear to educate personnel within the civil nuclear enterprise.
We have the skills to analyse the customer’s requirements and to design, develop and deliver training to their needs. This training can take place at the customer’s site and therefore provide a more inclusive and cost-effective training package. Our training techniques are aligned with the individual needs of the learner giving them ownership of their own learning in a workshop-based environment.
We also offer innovative digital learning with our in-house multimedia team developing engaging content for guided and self-led training which can be offered as a separate service or as part of a learning package. We understand the impact and benefits of digital technology as vital aids to learning and development, leveraging modern technology in new and exciting ways to create packages that are memorable, educational and appropriate.
