STS Defence Observes International Day of Charity 2026

5th September marks International Day of Charity, an annual observance that celebrates charitable giving, raises awareness of important causes and encourages communities around the world to make a positive difference.

To mark the occasion, we are highlighting our partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), which was selected as our 2026 company charity. Supporting organisations that create lasting impact is an important part of our commitment to creating social value.

Through this partnership, we are proud to support the BHF’s mission to fund life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases while providing vital support to the millions of people affected by these conditions.

Together, we are making a positive difference through a range of initiatives, including:

• Employee-led charity selection: Our annual charity partner is chosen through staff voting, giving colleagues a direct role in deciding which cause we support
• Employee wellbeing activities: Initiatives such as our Thursday Lunchtime Run Club and free weekly Pilates classes encourage colleagues to stay active and support heart health
• Fundraising and volunteering: Colleagues take part in charity events, challenges and community activities throughout the year to raise funds and give back
  • Later this month, our Extra Mile Cycling Challenge will take place, raising vital funds for the BHF
• Raising awareness: Through our digital platforms and internal communications, we are promoting the BHF’s vital work and encouraging wider support

International Day of Charity is a reminder that every contribution can make a meaningful difference, whether that means giving our time, fundraising, volunteering or simply raising awareness.
