STS Defence Present White Paper at RE18
16th November 2018STS Defence were honoured to present FiRST technology in a paper entitled ‘A Decision-aid Device to Warn Firefighters of Catastrophic Temperature Increases using a Time-Series Algorithm’ at The Institute of Fire Engineers RE18 Fire Related Research and Developments event. The conference, hosted by the West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service, has always attracted interest and presentations from international IFE colleagues and this year, celebrating 100 years, included Dr. David Garrity, CTO of STS Defence presenting during the Situation Awareness and Incident Command session.
Also representing STS Defence was BD Manager Rob Matthews, who stated that: “This paper presents a method for predicting the occurrence of a temperature rise event caused by a fire within an enclosed environment. This is now used in FiRST® (Firefighter Rescue & Support Technology) an award-winning wearable predictive temperature alarm that protects firefighters from heat stress, burn injury and flashover.” Our thanks to all those who attended and to the organiser for the significant interest shown in the presentation.
STS Defence is now seeking an experienced Firefighter OEM market partner to help meet the global demand for this technology.
