HMS Queen Elizabeth deploys on CSG21
04th June 2021HMS Queen Elizabeth has recently sailed from from Portsmouth, leading the Carrier Strike Group 21 (CSG21) deployment around the world, a journey expected to take more than six months.
It’s worth pausing to reflect that the Royal Navy’s flagship, as well as the RN and RFA ships that will escort her, rely a great deal on STS Defence. From mission-critical satellite communications, to the deployed internet system that allows crews to keep in touch with home, we played a vital role in getting the fleet ready to sail. Add to that the array of consoles, cabinets and masts that we have supplied, including the recent additions of the bulk modular containers supporting the Wildcat helicopters and F35B fighters, it’s clear we can be proud of the part we’ve played in preparing for this global deployment which is expected to sail over 20,000 nautical miles from the North Atlantic, through the Mediterranean and into the Indo-Pacific, visiting more than 40 countries.
