On track for Net Zero!
03rd July 2023STS Defence has updated its Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) as part of its commitment to the environment and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 or earlier.
Since the publication of our first CRP in 2021, we have already achieved a carbon emission reduction of 17% through company-wide, employee-supported initiatives, including introducing a telematics system to our vehicle fleet to monitor and encourage efficient driving and promotion of our employee Bike2Work scheme. We have also improved onsite waste recycling and actively encouraged the use of teleconferencing with customers, suppliers and within our own teams. We have also negotiated a carbon neutral electricity tariff with our energy supplier.
In the coming months we intend to engage with our supply chain to better understand how we can influence their impact on the environment. We also have advanced plans to develop our facilities to be more energy efficient as well as an upgrade of our equipment and machinery.
Managing Director, Jonathan Bowley said: “Within only two years of setting our goal, we have seen an incredible difference. With these measures in place, and with those that are planned, we are on track to achieving our Net Zero goal and strengthening our credentials as a sustainable and environmentally conscious business for the future.”
