World Mental Health Day theme this year is “It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace”
10th October 2024In today’s fast paced and demanding work environment, STS Defence recognises the importance of supporting mental health in the workplace. Mental health issues can significantly impact an employee’s performance, satisfaction, and overall well-being. At STS Defence we prioritise mental health to create a more productive, positive, and resilient workforce. We have taken significant steps to support the mental health of our employees by implementing mental health first aiders, who are available to listen and provide guidance in times of need. Additionally, we encourage staff to make use of our dedicated employee confidential help line.
By providing mental health support, we help our employees manage mental health issues, leading to improved performance and reduced absenteeism.
World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for STS Defence to reinforce commitment to mental health and to highlight the resources available to our employees. This day serves as a reminder to reflect on our practices and ensure that mental health remains a top priority, empowering our staff to thrive personally and professionally.
Our commitment to mental health extends beyond the company. We actively support several initiatives and charities dedicated to mental health and well-being, including:
• The First Light Trust Gosport Café Hub: An organisation that provides bespoke support and services to the local community, particularly veterans, along with outdoor activities. We support The First Light Trust through monetary donations and participation in their local events.
• Movember: We actively participate in Movember to raise awareness about male mental health and suicide prevention.
At STS Defence, mental health awareness is at the heart of our workplace culture.
