World Pollution Prevention Day: Renewing Our Promise to a Cleaner Future
02nd December 2025Observed annually on 2nd December, World Pollution Prevention Day serves as a critical reminder of the global need to address pollution in all its forms and safeguard our environment for future generations. At STS Defence, we stand firmly behind this cause and are actively working to reduce our environmental footprint through meaningful, measurable action.
Our Journey Towards Net Zero
As part of our long-term sustainability vision, we are targeting Net Zero emissions by 2050. Since establishing our emissions baseline in 2021, we are proud to report a 20%+ reduction in carbon emissions, a milestone that reflects the collective efforts of our teams, partners, and leadership.
Key Pollution Prevention Initiatives
We are implementing a range of initiatives designed to minimise pollution and improve sustainability across our operations:
- Optimising vehicle usage to reduce fuel consumption and emissions
- Transitioning to carbon-neutral electricity to power our facilities more sustainably
- Enhancing waste management systems to promote recycling, reduce landfill use, and minimise environmental impact
- Upgrading and modernising equipment and machinery for greater energy efficiency and lower emissions
In addition, we are actively engaging with our supply chain partners to drive down emissions beyond our direct operations, recognising that collective action is essential to creating real change.
Certified Commitment
Our commitment to environmental stewardship is underscored by our ISO 14001 certification, a globally recognised standard for environmental management systems. This certification affirms our dedication to continuous improvement and responsible business practices.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on our progress, we remain focused on building a cleaner, greener future through innovation, accountability, and collaboration. We encourage our stakeholders, customers, and industry peers to join us in taking bold steps toward reducing pollution and protecting our planet.
